Spooky Party

Another reason Mama & I went upstate this weekend was for Meema's friends Roger & Linda's Halloween Party/Chili Cook-Off/Bonfire. Yeah, they managed to pack a lot into one evening. The word on the street is that Roger & Linda really go all out on the Christmas decorations, so I was told to expect nothing but the best when it came to spooky decor. They did not disappoint. There were glowing pumpkins, kitty cats, tombstones, spiderwebs and big, scary monsters with glowing eyes who said scary things. There was even a monster in the bathtub (right next to the fake rat that moved if you touched it... ewww). I'm really into spooky stuff this year, so walking around looking at everything was really fun for me. I also really liked the bonfire. It was cold out, so I sat in the chair that Meema brought me, wrapped in a big blanket, sipping apple cider while gazing at the big flames. We even roasted marshmallows. Daddy told me it was okay if I dropped it and not to get discouraged, but you know what? I didn't! I roasted two marshmallows like a pro. I think it helped that we picked out nice, long sticks in Meema's backyard and took them with us.

I had such a good time, I turned to Meema halfway through the evening and said, "This is a fun party, Meema, and you're my best friend." :)
The chili, however, I passed on.
