These girls are loud

Mama has that blasted job to go everyday! It is because of this that I don't get to see my buddies very often. We had a long overdue reunion on Saturday. Lucy and Evie are my oldest friends and now that we've thrown two more into the mix, it's crazy. Lucy and Evie are great fun, but I must confess, they're a bit loud. I spent most of our time together eating chips, playing with Lucy's trains by myself or covering my ears while they ran around screaming. You can't say they lack personality. I was such awe of the decibel at which they could speak, I kept saying to Mama, "These girls are loud." It really stuck with me as I said the same thing as soon as I woke up on Sunday morning. What can I say, I'm kind of soft-spoken. In fact, sometimes Mama tells me in the car that I have to speak louder so she can hear me. I doubt Miss Katie or Miss Sarah have that problem. I had such a good time, though. And to add to the fun, I'm going trick-or-treating with them tomorrow. Thank goodness they'll be a few boys there and well, we'll be out in the open air. Maybe that will help.

Of course, our parents attempted the "group shot." If you really want to get nostalgic, check out Lucy and Daniel's blog.

Competition

Lucy's little brother Daniel has turned into quite the charmer. Not only is he very good at posing when the camera comes out (something that took me until about age 3 to master), but look at him making the moves on my Meema on Saturday! What a little ham, right?

Antidote

Meema came down to NJ to visit us on Saturday. She arrived right as Mama and I were making our weekly pilgrimmage to the farmer's market, so we commissioned her to come with us. Never mind that it was windy and about to rain, for some reason we walked. That's okay, it gave me a good chance to wear my "Spider Man hoodie."

While there, Meema found a table selling local honey. I suffer from a good amount of seasonal outdoor allergies, and they say you should eat honey from the region where you live to relieve some symptoms. I think this is a pretty good remedy. Meema bought me some to take home, but I also indulged in some flavored honey sticks. In the above picture, I'm tackling the strawberry. I don't mind the nebulizer so much (M&D let me watch TV when we do it), but this tastes much better.

Yellow Team

Today, I am going on my first ever field trip! My school is going to a pumpkin farm. I promise to write all about it! I won't have any pictures because my trusted photographer (AKA Mama) will not be going with me, so we took these this morning.
Going to a farm with a bunch of preschoolers is probably pretty daunting, so all of us kids got assigned to color-coded groups. I'm in Miss Kim's group. Everyone in Miss Kim's group had to wear yellow. We all realized that I don't really own much yellow (in fact, I haven't worn it since the days of Bethlehem Daycare), so Daddy bought me this cute shirt at Target on Sunday.

Yesterday when Mama picked me up from school, Miss Jenn reminded her that it would it probably be cold and that I should pack a hat and gloves. Well, I didn't have any for this season yet. Mama and I went shopping after school and I picked out this super cool Lightning McQueen hat & mitten set. I'm very proud of it.

This should be a really fun day, but in the interest of honesty, I should tell you that I'm most excited about the school bus ride and sugar cookies I heard talk of.

Spooky Party

Another reason Mama & I went upstate this weekend was for Meema's friends Roger & Linda's Halloween Party/Chili Cook-Off/Bonfire. Yeah, they managed to pack a lot into one evening. The word on the street is that Roger & Linda really go all out on the Christmas decorations, so I was told to expect nothing but the best when it came to spooky decor. They did not disappoint. There were glowing pumpkins, kitty cats, tombstones, spiderwebs and big, scary monsters with glowing eyes who said scary things. There was even a monster in the bathtub (right next to the fake rat that moved if you touched it... ewww). I'm really into spooky stuff this year, so walking around looking at everything was really fun for me. I also really liked the bonfire. It was cold out, so I sat in the chair that Meema brought me, wrapped in a big blanket, sipping apple cider while gazing at the big flames. We even roasted marshmallows. Daddy told me it was okay if I dropped it and not to get discouraged, but you know what? I didn't! I roasted two marshmallows like a pro. I think it helped that we picked out nice, long sticks in Meema's backyard and took them with us.

I had such a good time, I turned to Meema halfway through the evening and said, "This is a fun party, Meema, and you're my best friend." :)
The chili, however, I passed on.

Charming

On Saturday, Mama & I took a trip upstate to visit Meema for the day. About 8 or 9 years (those dark times before yours truly was even a twinkle), Mama & Meema first went to a farm in New Paltz called Country Charm Farm. They are known for their elaborately dressed scarecrows. There are a bride & groom, SuperMan, a woman waiting for the subway, a cowboy... so many cool ones to look at and pose with. There was even a hayride for us to go on, which has quickly become one of my favorite things about this time of year. I have to say, it really was quite cute and fun, if not very chilly.

I guess it's really fall, huh? The leaves look so very pretty. In school, we have talked a lot about all the neat colors that the leaves turn this time of year before they fall off for the winter. This is a really great time of year and I've been very lucky to do lots of fall activities. This was my third farm trip in three weeks!

Pumpkins 2008

Every year of my short life, I have gone to a pumpkin farm in October for pumpkin picking. The very first year we were in NJ in the fall, we went to Conklin Farm. I wore a very cute pumpkin hat and matching booties and everyone giggled as I was propped up for picture on a bale of hay. Well, I'm a bit more interactive now and I love this fall tradition. We usually go to Conklin Farm in Montville, but this year we branched out a bit and headed down to Old Bridge to Cheesequake Farm Market with Uncle G and Aunt Lynda.

There were tons of people there! Unfortunately, you had to wait in a very long line to get on a tractor out to the patch, so we passed on that. But I still managed to find the perfect pumpkin and so did everyone else. I also went a pony ride, which was great, albeit very serious business. I did, however, get to do a lot of running around and playing and they had many spooky cut-outs for me to put my face in. It was a great opporunity to work my newfound "hamminess."
After we left, I was treated to a very delicious lunch of grilled cheese and fries (the Sponge Bob) at the West Orange Diner. It was a perfect fall day. Thank you Uncle G & Aunt Lynda!
PS- It was a good thing I was there. Notice how I helped Aunt Lynda out of the car. What a nephew!

Uncle Guido

I was stuffy & wheezy while at Meema's house during my last visit. We decided that a little steam might help my situation. And sure enough, it did. However, while Mama and I were underneath a cloth napkin, breathing it all in (AKA playing tent), I shifted and got some water all over my PJ shorts (no longer hot, thank goodness- DYFS anyone?). Well this was night 2 at Meema's house, so I didn't have any more PJs (you'd think the mother of a newly potty-trained little boy would bring more to wear). Ever crafty, Meema gave me a pair of her running shorts to wear for sleep, so I wouldn't be too cold sleeping in just my undies. It made for quite the look, as you can tell. Everyone thought I looked like an old Italian man. I give you- Uncle Guido.

"Mama's 29. I'm Three."

A few weeks back (before Mama went to see Auntie L-Train... in Colorado... without me), Meema had a very nice birthday party for Mama. We went up to Meema's house for the weekend and had lots of fun. Always the hostess, Meema put out a delicious spread of food and had a great party for Mama. Peepa and two of his friends even came. We had a great afternoon. We even played Bingo (see below).

Peepa bought Mama two CDs that she wanted and Meema bought Mama a beautiful necklace from Murano Glass in Italy. Yours truly picked out a beautiful shirt for her, that Meema helped me wrap. I also gave her a "beautiful butterfly" that I was keeping in my pocket along with a "pretty flower." These gifts weren't actually real, but it's the thought that counts. Aren't I cute?
I can barely count to twenty, so I can't really wrap my brain around 29. I kept asking Mama to tell me how she was and every time she did I would go, "Wow. I'm three!" I have a few more years until I'm as old as Mama.

Little Boy

In case anyone is interested, I can now fit into a boy's size XS! Can you believe it? Mama seems genuinely shocked at how big I have gotten all of the sudden. And just last week, Daddy put a pair of pants that I hadn't worn since the spring. They were too long the last time I wore them, so they were cuffed. But the cuffs were practically up to my knees. I wonder how tall I am now? We'll have to ask Mama to check.
The proof is in my latest clothing addition- the XS Spider-Man tee-shirt that Meema found in the boy's section at Target!

When Mama's Away...

... Daddy's cut hair! I haven't blogged in a bit because my assistant, Mama, was out of town visiting "Auntie L-Train." Now, that she's back, I can write about some of my adventures (Mama's birthday party included). But until then, Mama wanted everyone to know about the "trim" I got while she was gone...
