Uncle Adam

Ok, so this is how lazy my mother can be: We moved here (to NJ) THREE YEARS AGO and I'm just now meeting one of her dearest friends from NYU, Adam. Can you believe it? Adam's grandma actually lives in Buffalo, so I think she saw him more when she lived there. Well, that wasn't doing me any good, was it? Mama decided enough was enough and took us into
Manhattan (yes, that's right, it's a whole 15 miles). The trip there was even exciting. Right before we got to the Holland Tunnel, sirens started blaring and all cars (including us) had to move over to one lane. Turns out there was a motorcycle run going to Ground Zero. So not only did I get to see a ton of police cars, but then hundreds of motorcycles came through. It got a little old after awhile and I must admit that it did tack about an hour onto our trip. But what can you do, right?

When we finally made it, we met Uncle Adam at a beautiful park near Battery Park. It's right on the water and we could see NJ and the Statue of Liberty and all the big boats (something about booze cruises?) going by. The sun was setting over the Hudson River and it was just beautiful. Not to mention, there was rocks to jump of off. I made sure that Mama & Uncle Adam watched very closely as I did all my tricks, even if they did do some "catching up" in between.
After that, we walked over the
South Street Seaport for some dinner and Italian ice. There was such hustle and bustle (shopping! tourists! boats!
street performers!), I didn't even notice how past my bedtime it was before we actually headed home back to Jersey. It was worth it, though, what a day! I do love NY, especially in the summer, and Mama sure does have some amazing friends. I'll be back Uncle Adam!
