I think I'll look good in pinstripes...

Mama loves baseball! From April to October, she becomes quite the sports fan and we listen to a lot of am radio in the car. Mama's (and Peepa's) team of choice have been letting us down the last couple of years, but that won't discourage her. ;-)
Anyway, I think she's starting to obsess about me being a baseball star when I'm older. She seems to have the visual of me being a total athletic stud and one day playing professionally for her favorite team. We'll see how that goes. Honestly, I need to work on my hand-eye coordination a bit more before any of this happens. I did, however, pick out a very cute baseball and bat for myself at the store the other day and I think I'm getting the hang of it. Next stop: Yankee Stadium! (OK, so my mother wrote that. She really needs to let it go. HA!)

The Life
Never have I been accused of not knowing how to live it up. I think I get that from my parents. On Saturday night, Mama got a hotel for us to stay in with Meema. It had a king-sized bed that was rather comfortable and cozy, so I took it upon myself to snuggle up in the nude with my Thomas train. If only someone were fanning me and feeding me blueberries. I got sleep in the middle of the bed, between Meema and Mama. While they were perched on the ends, I was all stretched out, sleeping horizontally. It's good to be me. The next morning I discovered that I could run up and down the hallways without abandon and the lobby had a nice comfy couch with a huge TV and a steady stream of cartoons. I have to stay in hotels more often, I think.Thank you, GPS!

On Saturday, Meema came down to celebrate Mother's Day with us. Mama & Meema are always on a quest to do fun things, so after much internet research, we all decided to go to a train museum in Flemington called Northlandz. It was huge! When the man who sold us the tickets told us that it would take an hour and a half to walk through, Mama looked a bit concerned. But the models were really quite spectacular. I couldn't believe how much there was to see and how big and detailed they were! (Ok, so we all agreed that the La Peep doll exhibit was a bit creepy, but the trains were rather neat.) After the walk through (and the pretzel from the "Club Car Cafe") we took the train ride.
It wasn't the best day, so there weren't a lot of people there and we got the train all to ourselves. I really enjoy a good train ride; so much so that it's usually a bit of a struggle to get me to leave. But there was talk of going to see animals and eating candy, so I was okay. After we left Northlandz, we took Meema to Alstede Farms in Chester, where Claudia's party was. We really had no idea where we were going, but since we have a fancy navigation system, we just put in the address and off we went. The ride was beautiful-we got to see farms, flowers and rivers and it gave us plenty of car time to sing silly songs and crack jokes. When we finally arrived, I showed Meema the animals and we had a very good laugh at one of the chickens who had a really silly hair-do. After that, we headed back towards home and ate dinner at Charlie Brown's Steakhouse. I got a balloon and Meema and Mama got to visit the salad bar, so everyone was happy. However, I discovered that it is apparently in bad taste to take one's pants AND diaper off while eating there. Who knew? Anyway, the food was quite good; in fact, my grilled cheese and Meema's parmesan chicken were even better the next morning.
What an exciting day. I was pooped when I got back to hotel. But more about that later.
"My mom's here."
On Friday, my daycare had a Mother's Day brunch! The teachers at school put out a wonderful spread of food (Miss Christie made the best scrambled eggs-- yum!) and all the moms came in to eat. It was so exciting to see all my friend's mommies and I could tell Mama was happy to meet them, too, along with all my little friends. Finally, she can put a face to the names of all the kids I talk about. Mama also got to meet Miss Bonnie, who is one of my teachers and my favorite reading buddy. It was really neat having Mama at school. I showed her my favorite toys, the books I like to read, the craft projects I do. I was so excited that I told everyone who would listen that, "my mom's here." Everyone thought was really cute.
After Mama left and went to work, all of us kids in the Cubs class made pictures for our moms for Mother's Day. It has my handprint and a little poem and I even got to decorate it with paint. The teachers put it into a frame for Mama and I think I saw her tear up a bit when she got it. I love this place!09 May 2008
Potty Presents

Guess who peed on the potty? That's right... me! The ladies at school taught me a really good way to do it and since I see all the other kids there peeing on the potty, I'm feeling inspired lately.
It helps that I've been promised gifts if I use the potty. I guess my parents figure that's the best chance they have. I think they might be right! After the triumphant pee on Tuesday night, I got some really cool stickers. I think I might consider keeping this up because I think I heard talk of candy. Ah, the lengths they'll go to...

Horsin' Around
Okay, so even though there are no horses in this picture, they were there, I assure you! On Saturday, Mama & I went to Claudia's birthday party at Alstede Farms. If you don't remember who my friend Claudia is click here and scroll all the way down to "BMC Babies." Anyway, she's two years old now and I got an invite to her very cool party. When we first got there, I immediately went for the bags of carrots to feed the animals. You've should've seen my unorthodox style of feeding them! (It was more like I chucked carrots at their heads rather than let them nibble, but I don't they were too terribly put out. Hey, a carrot is a carrot, right?) Then, we did a hay ride, climbed up a huge hay castle and went into a bouncy house. And this was when we weren't eating delicious treats (Golfish! Juice! Pizza! Cake! A pinata!) What a party! Here's the birthday girl participating in some very respectable cake eating. Happy Birthday, Claudia!
