Babies Who Brunch (AKA Stan of the Cool Trains)

Last Sunday, M&D and I got invited to Lucy's house for brunch. See, her cousins Stan and Freddie, along with their M&D Liz and Nigel were visiting from-- get this-- Scotland! Cool, right? In my travels, I don't meet many Europeans! Anyway, they came for a ten day visit to see Lucy and her parents. Stan is almost three and Freddie is about six months old. Actually, Stan is sort of the "blog pioneer" and the main reason I have one! He had his, and then Lucy got one and then me! So let's all thank Stan! You can read all about his and Freddie's trip to the states at www.stanslog.blogspot.com. It's really, really funny and clever and gets two "toddler thumbs" up from me!
So brunch was great. I should also mention that my other bf, Evie, was there, looking as adorable as ever. Lucy's mommy made the most delicious egg/cheese/sausage dish and Evie's mommy made a delcious cheesy, spinach and tomato pie. I really can't see how you could go wrong with any of those things. The best part of the day, though, was probably Stan's trains. You see, Thomas the Train in huge where Stan lives, since it originated in the UK. He had a huge collection and they're all very high quality and nice. Mommy commented how she bets his heavy metal trains probably hurt more when kids throw them at parents. I bet she's right. I brought some of my cars and Stan and I did a little swap. He played with my toys and I, his. I think it was a very good display of toddler sharing and I'm most proud of myself.

What a great way to spend the Nor'Easter of 2007! I'm not sure when I'll get to see Freddie and Stan again, but I'm really glad I got to meet them. M&D seemed quite enthralled with Liz & Nigel, too. Judging by the company they seem to keep, I think they have a thing for those from across the pond. That explains all the Monty Python.

Jude,
I'm so glad you got to meet Stan and Freddie and play with trains!

I know you all had a good time!!

Love,
Nana (Lucy's grandmother)

Hi Jude,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye because I was sleeping but it was very nice to meet you. Thanks for letting me play with your trains and cars as well. I loved the hot-rods. If you're ever in Glasgow you can come and play with my cars and trains anytime.

Stan
